Morocco is a land of enduring fascination and enchantment. This weekend gravel ride takes us deep in to the heart of the High Atlas Mountains where high peaks and craggy ridges tower over deep gorges and isolated valleys are dotted with oases of iridescent green.
This is a tough, fast-moving weekend with 250km to cover in just over 3 days, over 1500m ascents each day and our highest point is 2200m on the Timenkar Plateau.
The riding takes us across a mix of stony deserts and dirt roads and up onto high plateaus as we tackle some tough climbs. An epic three-days off the beaten track, allowing us to witness a slice of living history and some stunning scenery from our gravel bikes. Overnight we will sleep in boutique lodges and enjoy delicious Moroccan cuisine. Our final night will be spent in a traditional Riad in Marrakech, close the Medina so we can enjoy everything this incredible city has to offer.
Best time of year: March to May, September to November
Number of days: 5
