Discover this wonderfully varied, landlocked country with a stunning mix of lowland forest, upland plateau and mountain peaks which frame the sparkling expanse of Lake Malawi. Malawi is one of Africa’s smallest countries and is described as the ‘warm heart of Africa’, and whilst we hate to generalize, Malawians, they really do seem to be among the friendliest people you could meet anywhere.
This incredible 400km bike ride takes us from the capital, Lilongwe north, along the western side of the lake. For 5 days we bike northwards, often hugging the shoreline and spend nights in local guesthouse or under canvas on the lake shore, enjoying a quick dip each night before witnessing the most spectacular sunsets you will have ever seen!
