Few countries can rival Venezuela’s scenic diversity and richness of landscape. The country’s northern coastline is a Caribbean paradise of palm-fringed beaches, while on the southern borders lays a different, impenetrable world of immense tropical rainforests fed by the mighty Orinoco River. From the snow-capped peaks of the Andean Cordillera in the west, rivers flow down to regenerate the scorched plains of Los Llanos where a diversity of fauna and birdlife thrives.
Here too are monolithic, table-top mountains rising sheer from the forests of Canaima, a surreal and fantastic landscape which inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s adventure epic ‘The Lost World’, and it is here that our trekking adventure begins and not forgetting the awe-inspiring spectacle of the Angel Falls, more than 15 times taller than Niagara, are the country’s most famous attraction where our adventure ends with a spectacular flight over it.
