A 5-day, 100km spectacular trek to the ‘end of the world’!
Finisterre translates as the “end of the world” and for many pilgrims they feel that their journey is only complete when they can walk no more— hence the walk from Santiago to Finisterre on the Atlantic Coast.
Starting from the magnificent cathedral in Santiago, we walk for 5 days through the Galician countryside and medieval villages to finish up at the Atlantic ocean.
It is here that pilgrims would traditionally burn their boots after completing their pilgrimage. Only the hardiest of pilgrims complete this quieter route and for this reason, the sense of camaraderie is incredible!
Brief Itinerary:
Day 1: Depart Edinburgh on a flight to Porto, transfer to Santiago de Compostela
Day 2: Trek Santiago-Negreria (21km/6-7hrs trek)
Day 3: Trek Negreria- Maronas (21km/6hrs trekking)
Day 4: Trek Maronas-As Carizas (22km/7hrs trekking)
Day 5: Trek As Carizas-Muxia (23km/7hrs trekking)
Day 6: Trek Muxia – Finisterre (15km /4hrs trekking)
Day 7: Free morning, transfer to Porto, overnight hotel.
Day 8: Depart Porto for Edinburgh
