Join SSAFA on an incredible 5-day Nepal trek through the un-explored Helambu region of Nepal.
Lying some 72 kilometres north-east of Kathmandu, the Helambu region, or Helmu as it is also known, consists of the country situated at the head of the Malemchi Khola (river). Bounded to the north by a wall of 5000 metre peaks which divide it from the Langtang Valley, it extends north-west to the Gosainkund Lakes and east towards the lower slopes of the Jugal Himal.
Although the region is not endowed with some of the better known Himalayan giants, the peaks of the Langtang, Jugal and Ganesh Himals form a very impressive backdrop to what is a charmingly unspoilt and often, un-trekked area.
This is an adventurous trek through the foothills of the Himalayas.
Openreach is a key partner of SSAFA and we’re very proud of our partnership. Our partnership helps fund SSAFA’s ‘Forcesline’, a confidential helpline outside the chain of command that helps to ensure SSAFA are always there when they are needed. SSAFA’s work is needed now more than ever and that’s why we’ve launched this exciting trek to Nepal, during which we expect to raise substantial funds and further grow awareness of our work.
