Cuba is the Caribbean's largest and least commercialised island and one of the world's last bastions of communism. On arrival there’s time to explore the captivating city of Havana with its spacious plazas and glorious Spanish architecture before transferring to the northern foothills of the Sierra del Escambray Mountains.
We trek up to 8 hours per day for 5 days deep in the Cuban countryside. It’s a spectacular journey through limestone canyons and across forested hillsides on mule tracks and footpaths. We see coffee plantations, orange and mango orchards and crystal clear waterfalls. Most nights we camp in this peaceful wilderness. After the trek there’s time to relax on the beach close to the World Heritage town of Trinidad.
